There's a radio personality that says, "bringing you broadcast excellence." Well, there was a poster that I remember for seminary and it went like this, "The goal: perfection, excellence will be tolerated." God is constanly working on me, I need a lot of work but I'm pressing on and excelling by His grace. Another man put it this way, "getting better every day in every day." To use this statement it must be quantified. How am I getting better? How did I improve? What did I do better today than I did yesterday? These are tough questions.
The deffinition of success is somewhat personal. The best definition I can think of comes from a song. It goes like this, "Only one life and soon will be past, and only what's done for Christ will last." It's a truth, this life is short and the pleasures in this life are not the focus (thank God for the pleasures!) There is a judgment, and everyone will stand and give an account, I want to do more. Jesus spoke of that place where there would be weeping and nashing of teeth. People really go there and my prayer is, "God help me help someone make it to Heaven, and help me make it there too."
